Wonderful list—I'm adding a few that I haven't read to my TBR: Strangeland (sad to be missing the retrospective at the Tate this summer), A Life of One's Own, Nova Scotia House, Talking to Women (love what Silver Press is publishing)...

A great compilation of books Katie. I have read Strout and Levy recently. Have started reading O'Farrell's Land today. I love Oates's Blonde, read it years ago and I am always recommending it to people. I love George Michael so this book by Sanghera appeals. It's getting good reviews. Loved Roy's Mother Mary Comes to Me.

I want to read the Helen Garner diaries; am slightly intimidated by the size!

Love the music, showbiz, lit crossover, especially the Marilyn mentions. To become a cultural icon you've got to go beyond your silo. Marilyn was a genius for doing just that, but her drive, charisma, and rewriting the laws of the game is why we're still talking about her.

This is the quintessential Summer reading list. So many great books released in 2026, keep us posted with your progress and thoughts!

Oh I did not know that Tracey Emin wrote a book! She is one of my all-time Sheroes. I had also bookmarked the How to Kill a Witch so now it is officially on my list. I'm an obsessive reader so thanks for the goodies!

Such a great list, thank you! I've audiobooked London Falling and it's riveting and disturbing in equal measure.

I’d recommend putting Yesteryear right at the bottom of your TBR pile

Fab list. I’ve been wanting to read Leonora Carrington for a while. This has encouraged me to get to it.

Great book recommends: Brawler, Land, and The Things We Never Say are my favs right now. I’m also listening to Ann Patchett’s new one: Whistler. So far, it has ahold of me.
