Given the figures highlighted in the introduction it feels a bit odd that the article then doesn't highlight any UK publicly funded libraries to highlight what great community resources still remain here in face of that level of cuts. The libraries featured are all no doubt remarkable in their own ways but hardly address the loss of so many in the UK.
What an incredible selection of libraries, now I want to visit them all. Just a small correction: the Royal Portuguese Reading Room is not in Lisbon, but in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
