That is such a lovely record of your time with Chantal. I hope New York is going well. Funny how we think that everyone else is so confident about things, when one isn’t oneself. Ie. you, super confident you, being nervous about living in NY, and on your own. So unexpected, from the position of onlooker. Thank you for your honesty. I would definitely be terrified, so I totally emphasise. Wishing you well.
Katy, thanks for letting us get to know you. Your energy, your passion and your youth are enlivening. Have a wonderful time in New York and wherever you go.
This was so lovely to read. I wish I had an experience like this...it sounds magical to have someone paint you weekly, or conversely to be in a position to do that for another person.
This was really a great read. Thank you for sharing your vulnerable self. Wish you were doing Canada in your book tour. I look forward to reading the book.
I remember when I found Chantals work for the first time and how I instantly feel in love with it. Was I painting the figure at the time or did it prompt me to, I can't remember! Ultimately I think her works give the viewer permission at some level, with her mark making, the way she composes, in ways of seeing inside and through a situation, a person, just as you described. It's a permission to just “be” and evolve.
